Team SAIKATxALPHA · Soul Society / Discord-Guardians

Two guardians for your Discord server.

SAIKATxALPHA develops KNIGHT and AEGIS, two Discord applications powered by a shared coordination layer, ALPHA Core. KNIGHT handles moderation and security. AEGIS handles music, server utilities, community features and an optional voice assistant.

The applications

Separate bots with separate responsibilities

KNIGHT and AEGIS are two separate Discord applications, each with its own bot account, permissions and commands. Server administrators choose which to add and which features to enable.

KNIGHT

Moderation · Security · Protection

KNIGHT protects a server. It watches for abuse in text channels, alerts staff to suspicious activity and carries out moderation actions within the limits server staff set.

  • Automatic moderation for profanity, spam, mass mentions and invite links. It runs in a simulation mode that takes no action until an administrator turns enforcement on.
  • Raid and new-account alerts posted to a staff security log.
  • Moderation actions (warnings, timeouts, kicks and bans). Before each action it checks Discord permissions and role hierarchy.
  • Escalation points, case history and reports that help staff review moderation decisions.
  • Voice moderation Off by default. Administrators can turn it on for a server, and should tell members before they do.

AEGIS

Music · Utilities · Community

AEGIS runs the day-to-day side of a server: music in voice channels, server management, community features and the ALPHA assistant.

  • Music from openly licensed catalogues, internet radio and audio files the operator is entitled to play. It does not stream audio from YouTube or Spotify.
  • Server utilities: channel, role and permission management, with safeguards against privilege escalation. Risky changes requested through ALPHA need confirmation first.
  • Community features: welcome cards, levels and a server currency ("aura"), quests, events, scheduled announcements and reminders.
  • Research digests and activity reports built from public sources and message counts.
  • ALPHA voice assistant Optional. It listens only after it is started in a voice channel, and only to users the server has authorised.

Shared core

ALPHA Core coordinates both bots

ALPHA Core accepts typed or spoken instructions from authorised users and turns them into a fixed set of permitted bot actions. It is not a general-purpose chatbot, and it cannot run arbitrary code.

  1. Checks identity. It uses the Discord user ID attached to the message or voice stream. The wake word "ALPHA" is never treated as proof of identity.
  2. Checks authority. Each action has a minimum permission level, matched to the requester's Discord permissions.
  3. Asks before risky actions. High-risk actions require a confirmation button that only the requester can use and that expires.
  4. Records the outcome. Privileged requests and their outcomes, including refusals, are written to an audit log.

Data, briefly

How the bots handle information

A short summary. The Privacy Policy has the full details, including retention and third-party providers.

Server-scoped records

Moderation cases, settings, levels and activity counts are stored per server and linked to Discord IDs.

Counts, not conversations

Activity analytics store message counts, not message text. Moderation evidence keeps only a short excerpt.

Voice is opt-in

Voice features are off until someone starts them. When they are on, audio clips are sent to a cloud speech-to-text provider.
